The fake skins, double agent ploy but the Hijikata group already figured out it, Tsukishima spilled the secret from the very beginning and how he's in the plan just for the front row seat view. Definitely a very serious episode and coming down to all 3 groups facing each other. Shiriashi never gets this serious either and he listened in on both Asirpa and Sugimoto's conversation as well as the conversation revealing everything about Tsurumi. Tsurumi was an obvious open book though. Can't say he's really saving people though but creates his own private army for his own personal gain and does a lot sweet talking.However truthfully the main group now understands what Tsurumi is like asides Asirpa.

I was surprised Ariko betrayed Tsurumi and Kikuta but I guess the hints were there with Tsurumi having so many questions about how Ariko recognized the tattoos and then Kikuta talking about the day they almost died together, he definitely picked the worst option now having both Hijikata and Tsurumi not being able to trust him. I'm not sure how he'll be able to get back onto Tsurumi's good side after this, I don't think being a double spy will be enough.

So the bird story Asirpa had directed last episode came to realization a lot sooner than I had anticipated, it was kind of moving how Tanigaki instantly realized why Chikapasi was hesitating and even though he was in complete tears he knew it was time to set him free to create a family of his own. He looked so determined as the sled moved along.

Koito really be wild though, even after learning his encounter with Tsurumi was sham, he fanboyed even harder for him. It was interesting to see Tsukishima's never changing expression actually grow dark and lifeless as he spoke about how he knows he was also lied to too, and the way he threatened Koito as he knows he'd be the one sent to kill him if Tsurumi so wishes was intimidating. But Koito's fanboying completely took all that tension lol.

Interesting how Shiraishi was lecturing Sugimoto about how Asirpa's grown up when he was separated from her, it feels like we might see the resurrection of the Immortal Sugimoto soon enough as this will most likely serve as a push for him to protect Asirpa from both Hijikata and Tsurumi and follow her wishes instead of what he wishes for her.

Yeah I'm really curious what Shiraishi is gonna do with his newfound insight when he was listening into the conversation.. maybe that drunken lecture was the application of it lol.

I also wonder if the fanboying is really a façade to throw Tsukishima off.

is Koito really excited and fanboy even more for Tsurumi? hmm. It's interesting to note his expressions and body language from the previous episodes, whenever Koito is excited about something and when he's not. And the way he deducted all of those possibilities shows us that he's smart despite being naive most of the times. So yeah, I wonder if he was faking it just to lose the tension between him and Tsukishima :D Can't wait to find out on the next episode!

Man... seeing Chikapasi and the others leave the group made me realize something... shit's about to go down really hard, especially after what happened in the episode and the title of the next one.

If I'm being completely honest, I think Sugimoto's group should ally themselves with Hijikata, Tsurumi is way too dangerous and manipulative and I can see him even dealing with Asirpa after she helps them with the gold... and sure, Hijikata is no saint either, but he's honorable at least.

As Tsurumi said himself, Hijikata is trying to woo the Ainu and won't betray them while Tsurumi doesn't care whether you're Ainu or Japanese - if there's a way to use you he will

I really hope they will resume broadcast of the rest of the episodes later on, but I also understand their situation.. my condolences to the staff and their family 😞
